At the sudden, bizarrely-fearful, actions that Faya was now displaying, Smoke tilted his head to one side, taking a step back from her instinictively- and, unknowingly, making it so that the light passing through Ruhan blocked the wolf completely from his vision- as Smoke's bemused gaze slid around, he couldn't see a thing out of the ordinary.
"Fa-"
Starting to speak the female's name when she spoke, his head snapped up to gaze confusedly at the cave entrance- staring right at Ruhan, though he didn't know it. Confusion patterning across his expression, sharpening his masculine features, he looked back to Faya as Ruhan spoke-
"I don't see-"
He paused, at the exact same time as Ruhan did.
"-Anything. Are you sure you aren't imagining it?"
Because he had spoken at the same time as Ruhan, and his words were so much louder than the soft mutterings of the spirit, echoing in his ears and around the cave unlike Ruhan's voice, he didn't hear Ruhan whatsoever- and so, more confusion and bewilderment splashed onto his face like white paint being splashed onto a black canvas, eyes shining with a sudden fear for Faya's mental state.

Faya looked from Smoke, to Ruhan and back again, the whites around her eyes growing more and more visible. Smoke was not the only one worrying about her mental state. Faya started to panic, wondering if what she could see really was there, and she tossed her head several times as though trying to clear it.
She was shaking vigourously, and she'd broken out in a cold sweat as her worry mounted. She struggled to think clearly, and threw her love a look of pure desperation.
"What's happening?" She whispered in a wobbly voice.
She backed away until her back end made contact with the wall of the cave, and her wild eyes were shining through the shadows. She struggled to calm down, silently screaming at herself to think, work it out on her own. There's got to be a way to figure out if she'd totally lost the plot or not...
Ruhan looked hard at Smoke, who at the time was staring right at the spirit, and gave a wry grin. He didn't move; he knew when he was in the advantage.
"That's right, young wolf." He growled, hoping Smoke would hear him and be afraid. "I'm just a figment of your imagination..."
He gave a cold laugh, which looked nothing short of malicious as his eyes were still blank and fathomless. It was a false laugh, produced only to inject fear into all who heard it.
"Just close your pretty amber eyes and let the nightmare take over." He whispered, dipping his head as he scented the terror flooding through Faya's veins.
Faya listened to his words and she felt shudders run down her spine. Her hackles rose ever higher, her ears went right back, pressed against her skull, but her mind was clearing the more he spoke.
Let the nightmare take over?
He was hoping...
Faya gave a bloodcurling snarl and she ran forward, straight what she hoped would soon lie dead, despite the fact she had never seen something that looked more dead.
She jumped and soared through the air, jaws opening. She waited to snap them shut over flesh, but she just carried on with her jump, suddenly feeling cold and her breath knocked out of her lungs as she watched the insides of Ruhan pass her vision, the heart black and dead, the torn tendons of his back legs...
She landed in a heap on the other side and closed her eyes tightly, her body heaving as it gave a retch, what she saw able to make the strongest wolf want to throw up.
Ruhan had given a sigh as the rush that was Faya passed through his body, and he turned slowly to face the wreck that was the young fae on the ground.
He turned his head just as the moon slid behind a cloud, thye light no longer able to slide through him and hide his appearance to Smoke.
"Boo." The spirit said mockingly.
