Carefully, and quite quickly, moving forwards beside Faya, Azura gave a soft gasp, not of pain or of suprise, but of thankfulness- in a few moments, she and Faya could desposit their burden beside the waters, make him drink some of the water, and make Smoke drink some also, then Azura could set off again on her mission- finding her sisters.
Smoke caught sight of the ripple-less waters a few seconds before Faya did, and instantly, his ears stood erect 'pon his skull, his pace increasing- for he had seen another wolf drink from the water, and that wolf had been healed, and Smoke was eager to rid himself of the pain coarsing through his body, courtesy of the wound on his stomach.
Paws flying across te earth, as he had sped up further, he quickly slowed to a stop behind the river, wincing as he glanced back at the two females and their burden, then down a notch, to the trail of blood which had slopped out of his wound during his frenzied rush.
Sighing, he quickly snapped his attention back to the water, bending his head into the stream, pulling mouthfuls of the sparkling water up into his mouth. His tail flicked, slowly, as a strange, pale-blue light began to glimmer around his body, and, as he flopped quickly onto his back to observe what was happening, the blue light glowed brighter and brighter, until it vanished into the air, and leaving Smoke's stomach, and the other, smaller, wounds he'd had, healed.
Well- healed being the loose term, as, although the skin wasn't slashed anymore, and his other wounds seemed to have vanished, he had lost a lot of blood- it would take him some time to heal to the point that he was back to how he had been.

Faya watched intently, curiosly, as Smoke bent to drink. As the glow appeared around his body, Faya watched the wounds heal and felt her own heart pound at the strangeness and at the power of what was happening.
She glanced at the pool of water again, and the gentle waterfall. She gave a growl to Azura, forgetting it would not be heard, and bent her neck to allow Ohtar to roll from her back. She was itching to rush to Smoke, longing to so much it became a physical pain, and the she-wolf gave a whimper.
"Are you alright?" She called to Smoke, wondering if the process hurt, and feeling a sudden burning desire to taste the spring water herself and see if anything happened, despite the fact that she was not injured.

Azura didn't hear the growl, but she felt Ohtar's body move slightly on her back when Faya rolled him off of her own back, and the green-tipped tail of the female waved slightly as she bent her own head to allow Ohtar to roll off of her body. But, he was still too far from the spring to drink from it, and she had another mission she needed to carry out.
"Feel better. No blood."
Smoke's quite-cheerful reply came, though he winced when he moved; his body had taken quite a toll, and it would take him a while of resting to gain his full strength back. As soon as Azura looked briefly over to him, he caught her gaze with his own, nodding thankfully to her, before speaking, slowly, and clearly, so that she could understand.
"We can take it from here."
Azura nodded at Smoke's words, nudging Faya, and nodding to the female calmly, before turning and padding quickly into the gaping darkness of the trees. Smoke moved over to Ohtar and Faya, nuzzling his beloved softly, before quickly nudging Ohtar's body in the direction of the springs, rolling the male quickly and carelessly to the edge of the spring- Ohtar could drink from the water from the distance, but he wouldn't fall in. Returning to Faya's side, wincing more now as his aching muscles screamed for attention, he licked his beloved's muzzle softly, before smiling gently to her.
"Faya, my love, we can't stay here for eternity- I need to rest somewhere, for a while, at least."

Faya smiled and gave Smoke a hand, or a nose, in rolling Ohtar without any care nor sympathy to the water's edge. The timber wolf opened his eyes blearily, for he had kept them closed tightly apon the females' backs, and he stretched out his torn neck, his tongue shooting out and lapping at the water. It was icy cold, but he felt warmth spreading to the tips of his fur, and there was an itching on the back of his enck as his wound closed. As with Smoke, he had lost blood, and though he brought himself to a sitting position and looked around, he felt tired and weak.
Faya did not so much as cast him a glance.
She licked Smoke's nose and nodded. "Of course." She stood and looked around. In the darkness, a gaping black deeper than the night caught her eyes, and she nodded her head to the mouth of the cave.
"It's sheltered there. I can hunt for us for a while." She smiled again, her tail starting to wag. She made a mental note to creep to the springs and taste it herself whilst her beloved was sleeping, but pushed it away to dwell on later.
A sudden thought flashed in her eyes, a vision of a family, of youngsters crowding around their parents. She wagged her tail even harder and nudged Smoke gently, before lifting herself to her feet and trotting towards the cave.
She was tired with shock and with the excitement of the day. She'd found Smoke, she'd watched him fight. Ohtar looked after them resentfully, feeling an anger erupt at both Faya and Smoke. But his love was mingled with it aswell, and as he turned and skulked into the shadows, any onlooker would know he had not given up yet.

Smoke smiled to his beloved as she indicated the cave, ears pricking up and tail rising in delight- the cave seemed to be the perfect place for him to rest and re-gain his strength and, if Faya hunted alone for a week or so, he would be back to his full strength easily- although the wound had been 'stitched' back together, he would need to visit the Healing Springs daily, in order to keep the wound clean, and to aid it in a healing process that would, otherwise, have taken months to happen- if he hadn't died from the stomach-wound.
"That'd be great, Faya, my love."
Unaware of her vision, Smoke watched his beloved smile, before smiling himself.
Following Faya into the cave, Smoke looked around the large area, ears flicking briefly, before he flopped onto the ground, falling asleep within seconds- he was clearly exhausted.

Faya's eyes locked onto the hare. It was large, a male, and her mouth watered as she gazed at it's fleshy thighs. Though she had put her all into keeping Smoke fed, she had kept some aside for herself, and the taste of meat was already in her mouth. She licked her lips hungrily.
She crept forward, belly brushing the ground, stealthy and cunning. The hare knew she was there, it's head had whipped up and it was spinning it's ears madly, eyes wide. Faya tasted his fear, and adrenalin burst in her chest.
She sprang forward. The hare bolted. It was fast, kicking leaves up in it's wake, but Faya was fast too, head stretched forward, tail out, thighs quivering as her muscles worked furiously to propell her body forwards.
The hare, blind with panic, had come apon a cave, for the area held many, and darted inside. Faya grinned. It was trapped.
Within, the inevitable death of the hare resulted in a very proud she-wolf striding out, the hare limp in her jaws, trotting towards a cave on the other side of the springs. She leapt over the very spring that had healed both Ohtar and Smoke and she walked into the cave, tossing the carcass to the floor.
She tore a leg off and pulled it back with her for herself, leaving the rest for her beloved.
"Come eat, Smoke." She smiled, tail wagging. Her red fur was shining healthily, the moonlight from outside spilling on her and bathing her in silver.
Nothing much had happened since they decided to rest Smoke. Faya had hunted, she had guarded the entrance and rested her own self. She'd dreamed of Ohtar, but mostly of his death by her jaws, so she woke up refreshed and in a good mood every morning.
She tossed the forelock of fur from her eyes and looked around the cave. She was thouroughly bored of it, and longed to explore the outside, but didn't want to leave Smoke for longer than she had too.
She stood up and reared to her hinds, paws against the rocky wall of the cave and she gave a sharp bark. There was an explosion of black, leathery wings and a cloud of bats took flight, engulfing the wolf. There was a snap of jaws, and the bats flew outside, screeching about their rude awakening, for night had only just fallen.
Faya tossed the bats who had "flew into her jaws" on to the ground by the hare.
"Dessert." She said cheerfully.

Moving to the mouth of the cave at the sound of Faya's voice, Smoke smiled widely to Faya as she moved back in, snapping up bats and dropping them beside the hair. Slowly, he shook his head to her- she had brought him so much food this past week or so, yet she had not eaten so much herself- and the slight thinning of her fur was proof enough of that.
"No, Faya, my sweet, you eat it all, you haven't had much to eat as of late, looking after me."
A wave of embarrassment washed over him, and, if it had been possible, his light cheeks would have heated with red. Eyes still black, he watched his beloved move, a smile curling across his features- no matter how little food she ate, she would always be the most beautiful wolf he knew.
"You need the food more than me, my love."

Faya gave a grin, but, being Faya, she simply pulled a strip of flesh from the rabbit and took a couple of bats, curling up by the mouth of the cave and started to eat, not saying a word.
The wind ruffled her fur, and she enjoyed the feel of it against her skin. She lifted her maw to the breeze, and suddenly wondered what could have happened to Ohtar.
"Smoke?" Faya rolled on her back. "Smoke, I'm really bored. What can we do? Are you well enough to go outside or something?"
Faya rolled on her front again, and chewed a bat wing thoughtfully. She didn't like it and spat it out, wrinkling her nose and making coughing noises, like when she was a cub.
Another thought hit Faya and her ears pricked up quickly.
"Smoke, love, did you hear anything of Massacre while you were ... away?" Faya had been desperate to know what had happened to her old friend since he left. Her tail wagged with excitement, hoping Smoke had seen him. That would be fun. Going after him, looking for him.
It didn't even occur to her that age may have taken old Massacre too.
Faya lay her head on her paws, thinking about him and how he helped that night. She closed her eyes to fight the tears, openeing them again, letting her forelock curtain her face so Smoke would not see.
"I miss him." She muttered, growling at herself.

Opening his mouth to reply, Smoke instead laughed at his beloved as she imitated behaviour he had last seen when they were both pups. Slinking forwards, he batted her muzzle with one paw, smiling softly as he licked said appendage, before drawing back and freezing at her sudden words- which caught him completely off-guard.
"N-no, Faya. I've seen nor heard nothing of him since I..."
Stopping, not particularly wanting to bring up old memories and old pain which would have simply been caused by his saying 'left'. That word made his blood run cold, made tears prick the backs of his eyes- Haze had left him, then he had left the only other wolves who he had ever found comfort with; Faya, Traska, and Massacre.
Ears flattening back against his skull as unwanted, and unbidden, memories flooded his mind, he didn't notice the tears glittering in his beloved's eyes- the same sadness was enveloping him, the same reason for the tears shining in her eyes was the same reason that tears were blurring his vision.
As he caught the soft mutter of words that came from the mouth of his beloved, he directed his gaze towards the ground before his paws, ears sinking further back as he dropped into a lying position.
"I miss him too."

Faya looked up in horror at herself. How had she not thought that the memories, brought up yet again, would cause pain?
She crawled forward and licked Smoke on the nose, nudging him gently.
"Hey now, don't worry. We have eachother. That's all we need."
She knew the words sounded corny and actually wrinkled her nose and raised an eyebrow at herself, but she was determined to cheer up Smoke. She blinked hard and swallowed the tears, forgetting they were ever there.
Casting around for something to take their mind off Massacre, she saw nothing and she visibly sagged. Something needed to happen, and something needed to happen soon.
"Is there such a thing as dying of boredom??"
Faya asked. The question, though it sounded a bit of a joke, was serious, and her eyes were curious, head tilted, as she looked at Smoke now.
From a tree outside, a leaf fluttered into the cave and landed on Faya's nose. In surprise, she sheezed and the leaf fell to her paws, leaving her looking at it, still looking surprised, for the leaf had tickled her maw and she had wondered what it was.
She nuzzled Smoke again and stood up, stretching her slim legs and yawning. She found it amazing that when they were cubs, they rarely got bored as the smallest thing would occupy their curious minds for hours.
She dipped her head and picked up another bat, not to eat, but to play with. She tossed it in the air and caught it in her jaws, shaking it like a rat, throwing it, doing a leap-twist and catching it again.
She dropped it and flopped down again, with a sigh, though her tail was wagging as she caught sight of Smoke, as it always did.
"Made you smile yet?"
She asked, making a clownish face. She /would. get a giggle out of him, she though, whether she had to stand on her head or catch the bat with her tail... [/color]

Emotionless black eyes glittered in the rising moonlight. If feelings were able to cross them, they would have been filled with malice, evil and determination to wipe out the love he could feel in the area. The ripple-less springs bubbled beside him, but to his ears they made no noise. He was focused on the one gaping hole that was the cave Faya and Smoke dwelled in.
He took one step forward, his scar riddled legs lifting and falling, though never touching the ground, for he hovered but centimetres from it, never allowed to feel the dew on the blades, the plants of the flowers, the bugs, mud, anything. This wolf didn't care.
When the turn came for his left hind leg to lift, there was no movement, for in truth, there was no leg. It had long since been blown away in an incident the wolf could not remember. His head, supported by only two meagre stretches of skin, had the memory of only one thing.
The hounds teeth flashing, the blood flying, his mate's lifeless eyes staring, disease racking the same body the hounds were tearing at.
A pathetic memory. But all he had, and so all Ruhan could reflect apon when it came to his time of thought and dreams.
And so he padded, paws making contact with only air, swiftly towards the entrance. The moonlight didn't touch him. It passed through him, his translucent body glowing with the silver shafts of light cast apon the earth, looking ghostly as he ran.
He stood in the mouth of the cave in a flicker of time, sillhouetted against the same light that made him glow. The mist was leaking through his three legs, leaking through what was left of his neck, wrapping itself around him, cloaking him.
It was this eery appearance that made Faya take several hurried steps backwards, snarling in horror at what she saw. A spirit, nothing more. Her hackles were already up, her tail well between her legs, which were trembling a fair deal.
No one could blame her for being afraid. I'm sure you would be aswell if Ruhan was to appear to you at night time. Unsure if she was simply imagining it, she gave a growl to Smoke. If he could see it, she'd know that this was real.
She couldn't help but think how it was funny that a grotesque being such as the wolf standing at the cave entrance could make her feel afraid, for she had no reason to fear it yet. She did not know that he was evil, not yet.
But that ghastly form terrified her, and she tossed her head a couple of times like a nervous horse, lips drawn well back, ears forward, eyes flashing.
She moved slightly towards Smoke and she put a paw beside him.
"Is it real?" She whispered.
"Oh I'm real." Came a gruff reply. "As real as Hell is going to get, at any rate."
